Our Story
Emily Lavine had spent over 8 years working within elite sport and noticed a real disparity between the specialist treatment given to athletes, and the treatment available to the general public participating in regular exercise - such as lack of outdoor rehabilitation options, minimal exercise prescriptions involving weights and poor sport specific treatment. Emily wanted to bridge this gap, and make professional athletes' treatment available to everyone! And so 'Emily the Physio' was born.

'Emily the Physio' started from humble beginnings back in 2018, providing Pilates classes and home visits to the people of Andover. Over the years it has gone from strength to strength! We now have a permanent residence at The Chiros Clinic in the centre of town and help over 100 clients a month.

However, there was always one question that didn't seem to get answered: What about for pregnant and postnatal women? Was life for these women destined to be without impact exercise or the ability to progress past a gentle gym routine? With research showing that the vast majority of mothers don't get back to their previous level of fitness, that just didn't seem fair! So a vast amount of time, energy (and money) went into answering this question...and we did it! We now specialise in treating pregnant and postnatal women too, whatever level of fitness they would like to get back to! We even managed to win an award for 'Best Antenatal Physiotherapy: South of England'.
